Your data.
Clear information.
How Record Helper handles personal information, in plain language.
This policy explains what personal data we handle on the Record Helper website and in the Record Helper apps, why we handle it, and what rights you have under the GDPR.
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is Lumi Zone Łukasz Blania, ul. Zabrska 15, 40-083 Katowice, Poland. NIP (tax ID): 1990132289. REGON: 528880848.
For any privacy question or request, email contact@recordhelper.com or use the contact form. We do not have a data protection officer, so your message comes straight to us.
What information we handle
Website. You can browse the website without an account. When you send us a message, we receive your email address, the topic, your device, the subject, and your message. When you join the waitlist, we receive your email address and the device you are interested in.
Hosting. Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit, to deliver the pages and keep them secure.
Apps. There are no accounts. When you buy Pro or Pro + AI, the app checks your licence key with our payment provider, and we handle your email address and your licence status. For hosted AI we keep a count of how much AI your licence or trial has used; for the trial this count is tied to a one-way hash of your IP address.
Recordings and scripts
Your recordings and scripts are processed and stored on your own device. Recording, voice tracking, captions, and editing run locally. We do not receive your recordings or scripts unless you choose to send them to us, for example in a support message.
Optional AI features
Hosted AI. When you use the AI tools in Pro + AI or the trial, the text you send is passed through our AI gateway to third-party AI model providers only to generate your result. We do not store the text or the result, and we do not use it to train models. We keep only the usage count described above.
Payments
Purchases are made inside the Record Helper app and handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. Dodo Payments processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive order information such as your email address, the product, your country, and the amount, but never your full card details.
Who helps us
We use a small number of providers to run Record Helper: our website hosting provider, Formspree (contact form and waitlist), Umami (privacy-friendly website analytics that we host ourselves), Google Fonts (website fonts, which receives your IP address when loading them), Dodo Payments (payments), and AI model providers (hosted AI only).
Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. In those cases, transfers rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies and analytics
The website does not set cookies and does not use advertising trackers. To understand how the website is used, we run Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool hosted on our own server. It counts page views and basic, aggregated information such as the page, the referring site, browser, device type, and country. It uses no cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not follow you across other websites.
Why and how long
We handle your data to provide the apps and your purchases (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to meet tax and accounting obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), to answer your messages, keep our services secure, and measure website use in aggregate (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and to send waitlist emails (your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Support messages are kept for up to 24 months after the conversation ends. Waitlist addresses are kept until we announce the launch or until you unsubscribe. Account data is kept while your account is active. Purchase records are kept for 5 years from the end of the tax year, as required by Polish law.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
To use any of these rights, email contact@recordhelper.com or use the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland.
